The Horton Explorer HD 150 crossbow is moderately priced, has moderate performance, and fits nicely between the expensive high performance crossbow models and the cheap, imported, low power ones. With a bolt speed of up to 270 fps (in our testing about 260 fps with the included bolts in the Explorer package) it is an effective deer taker to 30 yards which covers most hunting situations. It is a small sized crossbow which handles easy and cocks easy also. Best of all it has Hortons "Talon" trigger which is a real pleasure to shoot, none of the heavy pull and long creep found on many lower priced crossbows.
